Eric Lampaert and Sara Pascoe unleash their Edinburgh previews

Eric Lampaert says of his show:

Hi, I’m Eric Lampaert (T4′s Rising Star, Life’s Too Short, Cardinal Burns, The Midnight Beast). I don’t really think I have a weird face, but the countless heckles, reviews and Internet abuse I’ve received suggests otherwise. Clearly all people want me to talk about is my oversized gums and my Neanderthal skull. So here’s my “One To Watch” (Time Out) show to get this topic out of the way. My face even scored me an advert alongside Bruce Willis (B-Dubz to his close friends) and made me famous in Mexico without me knowing…

Here’s the nice things people have said about me (for balance):

“One To Watch” Time Out
“The sheer energy of his performance, rips through the room like a mini-hurricane” Chortle
“Quirky with an eye for the absurd and a couple of near-Izzardian flourishes” The Stage

And the ace Sara Pascoe, stars in Sara Pascoe vs The Truth

Nothing in life is certain. Everything we believe is subjective. Evidence can be manipulated by predispositions and prejudices. You could just be a brain in a lab being stimulated by electrical impulses? Or, if each cell in your body is replaced over time, maybe you are not even you anymore, like the Sugababes?

Sara has starred on BBC Live at the Apollo, C4 Stand Up for the Week and Live at the Comedy Store on Comedy Central. Despite all this, she cannot be absolutely sure that she exists.

“Always clever, occasionally exquisite” The Independent

Gemma Whelan 4th April!

Gemma Whelan

Gemma Whelan

Yowzers. What a line-up this is.

Almost two years ago Gemma Whelan performed at the first-ever Always Be Comedy. It was the stuff of legend. The 2011 Christmas Special saw her return for a standing ovation. Now, she’s back.

Gemma is now a star of stage and screen, having lit up the West End in One Man, Two Guvnors; she also shone in Game Of Thrones, having clocked up appearances in Gulliver’s Travels and The Wolfman.

Support comes from:

Pat Cahill: “This quirky performer has true star quality and bags of originality, mixing physical humour, gimmicks, wordplay and comedy songs. Imagine a cross between Sean Lock and Eddie Izzard and you might be getting somewhere, but nowhere close.” – Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard

Ellie Taylor: “Charismatic, personable and bright” – Chortle; “Sparkling and energetic company… the potential to go on to really great things.” – Three Weeks

Joseph Morpurgo: Chortle-nominated, one-fifth of Austentatious

Ahir Shah: “Destined to be one of the brightest stars in the British
Comedy firmament…a frighteningly intelligent gagsmith” – The Scotsman; “Fizzing with intelligence and energy” – Chortle
